The French phrase for "He's a lousy singer" is:
Il chante comme une casserole!
Literal translation?
He sings like a pan! HAHA
Gotta love it!

This is probably the best way to explain why I love Europe and how I strive to be the "old men" playing cards, or the people watching football (soccer) in the pizzeria. So nice....

Huh, maybe they should just try to make economical cars...

New Boss, the Number 13 and Why I Hate Vegas.
The New Boss
There is good news in Ryan-Land. I have a new boss. What does this mean exactly? I don't really know the answer to that, but one thing for sure is that things will change. The new boss was promoted from within. I really like her, from what I know of her and she has talked to me more, in the last week and 2 days, than my old boss did in the entire time I have worked here. I will keep you updated, but things are looking up!
The Number 13
So about 2 weeks ago I bought a new black t-shirt with a white circle and the number 13 inside this circle. I wore it to work today for the first time. You would have thought that instead of the number 13 my shirt would have had something like this written on it: Today I am going to murder all my coworkers with a rusty beet digger. I've never seen such a reaction to a simple shirt. Are all of my coworkers REALLY superstitious? Are they as bored as I am? Are they very sheltered and think I am crazy? So many questions.... My typical response to the question "Why are you wearing a shirt with a 13 on it?" , is to say, "This is how I feel about the completely botched, mismanaged cluster F**k of an Oracle Applications implementation project, we are all working on." Actually I only wish I was saying that, I am really saying that this is how I feel about the project, but without the other commentary.
Why I Hate Vegas
I need to preface this segment of my rant with an example conversation had by me many times prior to going to Vegas:
Ryan: I will be off tomorrow so I won't be able to attend your meeting.
Coworker: Vegas! That is so cool you must be excited!
Ryan: Not really, I hate Vegas.
Coworker: You are kidding right? Vegas...Vegas is everything one could imagine...and more!
Yada, Yada Yada....
I am definitely one of very few people (LP included) who hate Vegas. So just to make it easy I am going to publish my reasons for hating Vegas.

- Vegas is a chain store, restaurant lovers dream. Even the casinos are chains. You know how I feel about chains.
- Vegas has an incredibly high crime rate.
- Vegas is the driest (I believe, less than 5" of rain annually) city in the United States. I hate deserts. Are there really any trees here?
- Vegas is ugly.
- The architecture in Vegas is ugly.
- This is one of the most sprawled cities I have ever seen in my life.
- Too Damn many 6 lane highways.
- Do we really need one more Tony Romas?
- More Wal-Mart's than college educations.
- No one walks.
- It is dangerous to walk because of how people drive.
- People drive really bad.
- Too many BIG SUV's. You know how I feel about SUV's.
- Gambling really is stupid, plus if I want to do that I can go to a Casino here and see some trees on the way.
- People are really fat.
- People wear sweats, stretch pants and workout pants out for shopping and even dining. Sweats were meant to wear to the gym or watching professional wrestling from the privacy of your own trailer park, not out in public where the rest of us can see every detail your huge jiggling arse.
- Too many golf courses. I hate golf.
- Do people really have to keep the last 3 cars they've owned, sans wheels, on the their front lawn?
- The only fashions here are fake tans, boobs and collagen lips, worn with the best of Dallas, Texas fashion from 1985. Do these people know how harmful aerosol haisprays are for the environment.

Still Bored Bored Bored
Ok, it has been two weeks since my last post and I've pretty much still done nothing since I last wrote. At that pace you'd think that I would have like 50 entries in here. I guess I could do a better job at updating the old blog more often. Blogs just seem so trendy these days. Oh well...least it gives me something to do.
So at least this morning I had a couple of process guides to write for a coworker DH. That was fun. I tried to stretch them out but they just weren't long enough to keep me busy for more than two hours. The only bummer about them is I never got a Thank you for doing it. DH if you are reading this, and I know you will be you better say than you for those damn guides!
Let's see what else. I am supposed to be in a daily status meeting right now, but since I don't do anything I don't have anything to say. SA just asked me if I was going and I told him to cover for me...hehe.
So if anyone other than DH reads this and has any interesting web-sites to read please forward them to me by responding to this post. It will give me something to do! I've written enough reviews in Judy's Book and City search to last for a while.
So let's talk football. We are very sad here in Seattle and I know the world out there thinks we are whining about the calls, but this Seahawks fan believes that if a team plays well and executes a team does not have to rely on calls going their way. Face it, we made a lot of freshman mistakes and if we can keep this thing together, we'll learn from those mistakes and be back there. That game reminded me of my Utah Utes college team. Lot's of talent and lots of inexperience. There were some bad calls I agree, but it is easy for one watching TV and the replay over and over to determine the correct call. It is much harder to be there at the spur of the moment calling them at game speed.
Now for the weather. Seattle has been in the National News for a while regarding the weather. It has been bad. Seattle is frequently rainy, however it sprinkles here, not downpour...at least not for 23 days (or whatever) straight. Thankfully Solaris the Sun God (yes I am a pagan and many gods are better than one, just face it)has shown us sympathy and brought the sun out for 3 straight days now! And warm too! Nearly 60! The best thing is that it is supposed to be nice for another week or more! WOO HOO and keep those sacrifices to Solaris going strong! :-)
OK all, signing off! I am going to have to look busy doing something else.
Until Next time..uh um...ah hell, goodbye!
